Time for a little silliness in the midst of all this Garza/Big Z bickering. I present my MLB ALL-STAR WARS TEAM. I was but a wee lad of 8 when I first saw Luke Skywalker on the big-screen, so one of my secret shames is my knowledge of, and outright geekiness when it comes to all things Star Wars. So disregarding race, ethnicity and your image of the person(if you have one)...just look at the names, and I bet you can see them as a Star Wars character:

I rarely laugh out loud while reading on the 'Net (like, the literal laugh out loud), even when I find things quite funny.

This made me laugh out loud multiple times.

I nearly lost my shit when I got to Dan Uggla, whose name I can hear those Trade Federation dudes saying right now.

Nerf Herders would be good as well....liking Star Wars does not make one a geek! There are just many geeks that like Star Wars...I never dressed up or anything...except in fourth grade as Luke...

I would like to nominate an oldie but a goodie - famous Detroit Catcher: John Wockenfuss.

OK, John doesn't really work, but Wockenfuss sure fits.

Just imagine what this would have been like if Lucas went with his original name of Luke Starhopper. Star Wars could have been a silly B-movie but instead it is the ultimate pop-culture reference for those of us in our 30/40s.

If you saw any of the the original trilogy in the theaters and own any of the Mattel toys you are lying if you haven't spend considerable time in your life trying to move things with the Force. In fact I think your lying if you deny that you still don't try it from time to time.
