You have used TOO much patience in my opinion. He has his warning. I don't intend on having much patience, but, as I've said (so freaking many) times before, there's only so much I can do. This level of persistence is unnerving and tiring. At least at this point, one thing is certain: I'm not willing to tolerate him taking things over at night anymore. If he does the 200 inane comments in a four hour period thing again, he's gone. Maybe that makes me too totalitarian, and I wouldn't necessarily do that to anyone else, but he's earned my lack of trust.

Brett owns a local grocery store. After one customer repeatedly writes him bad checks (the bashes his store when it Brett wins the local small business award), Brett bans said customer from the store.
6 months later, said customer returns, only this time with one of those fake mustaches. Brett, obviously not fooled, tells the customer he better not write any more bad checks. So what does the customer do? He goes and stomps on all the potato chips, opens bags of candy without paying for them, and writes dirty messages on the stalls in the bathroom. Customer is banned once again.
3 months later, customer returns. This time wearing fake mustache and a 10-gallon hat. Brett is once again not fooled, and tells the customer he better not do anything bad. Two days later, customer urinates all over the floor, then tells the child standing at the front of the store that he will "Jap-slap" him if he doesnt clean it up. Brett bans customer; customer returns once again...
So, if you think how you are handleing this is too totalitarian, you're wrong. You have shown WAY more patience than any one of us could even imagine.

I think the ban includes email address and ip maybe user name but then why can he return as BetterNews- sadly there is just no way to completely ban someone. Is the ban really IP-based? That seems silly, as most folks have dynamic IPs. MAC address filtering would be much more effective, but I'm not really sure if it's possible.

There is one way, but you need a large guy named Guido, a sack of quick drying cement, an old wash basin, and a boat.
