5 reasons to be excited about the 2012 season

Need I say more?
2. No more Zambrano
When Z was traded it was as if a cancer had been removed from the team. Now I used to love Big Z, as Im sure most of you did, he was a beast and he was fun to watch, then he went nuts and im sure you all know the rest. And we got Volstad in return, I thought the best we could get for Z was a new washing machine for the locker room or possibly some new gaforade coolers.
3. The NL Central is ridiculously weak this year. No Pujols... No LaRussa... No Fielder... And Braun is suspended for 50 games. Also all the Cards fans I know have been comparing their new manager to Q-Ball. Now I am a huge homer, but I'm the first to admit that with the Cubs current roster we arent going to win a WS BUT I think that in a weak division like the NL Central we can still contend for the division.
4. Im honestly excited to watch DeJesus, Stewart, and LaHair play this year. Im the most excited about LaHair, look at Jose Bautista he was a career AAA player before the Jays gave him a shot and now look at him, hes a beast! Who knows, maybe LaHair will be our Bautista...
5. Theo Epstein
I have never been as excited about anything as I was when the Cubs got Theo. We finally have a front office that gives me hope about the future of the Cubs organization, opposed to Hendry who made me want to smash my head into a wall every time I thought about him.
For me , as im sure it is for most of you, Cubs Baseball lasts 365 days. And I wanted to take a moment to thank Brett for making my Cubs addiction possible

So.. that that supposed to beIm honestly excuted to watch DeJesus, Stewart, and LaHair play this year.
1. Im honestly executed to watch DeJesus, Stewart...
or
2. Im honestly excited to watch DeJesus, Stewart...
There is a big difference there. Just sayin'
In all seriousness, I am "excited" as well. Except the Reds are not going to be any joke. Of course, they will probably just choke and fall on there face around the all-star break again.
I am also hopeful about LaHair, after learning to play LF.

The thing I am most excited about is just seeing all the new guys and the different energy they will bring to the team. I hate losing but hate it even more when the team looks like it gave up before the game even started and that happened a lot last season. I don't see that happen with Sveum and Co.

1. This.
2. Lahair (Worcester, Baby)
3. a whole new league to learn
4. No DH--games under 4 hours
5. Watching Cubs fans finally win. (I feel like I can time travel, and I am going back to watch an occasion of great moment. It is going to happen.)

I get much more enjoyment out of watching young pitchers like them fulfilling their potential than watching old guys like Zambrano waste it. For that reason, even if their total production is about the same (or even better from Z), I'm happy with that trade.I'm very excited to see if one of Travis Wood or Chris Volstad can break out. The potential is there, even if it isn't hugely likely. But I'm excited to see what happens.

2. I will miss Z. He was the most successful Cub pitcher since, who- Maddux?
3. Even with a down division I don't think we will be in the top 3.
4. Those three are the three I am least excited about. But whateves.
5. Theo- I like the dude. I was excited to see him hired. Since then I have been less then thrilled with his on field moves. The only ones that makes much sense to me is Z-Volstad and Maholm. I actually like the front office moves better then on field and that is sad.

1. Seeing effort.
2. Less errors.
3. Running all the way to 1st base.
4. Team camaraderie.
5. Strong personality in the manager.
6. Less base running errors.
7. Young kids having fun playing a game for a living.
I too am the eternal optimist when it comes to the Cubs. Youth and chemistry can do funny things in sports. Time will tell, but pre-pre-season is certainly the time to be most optimistic!

2] Lahair getting a shot. 1st or outfield. The guy deserves this.
3] A new infield.
4] One word : Sveum
5] I want to see how well Bosio does with a pitching staff.
