Taking Brett's suggestion to move the non-monetary betting on this over here. Let's see who the best BN prognosticator is!

My bet is Josh Vitters.

Chris Carpenter is my bet.

(I think that's a bit too much, but it's just a gut feeling. Seems like someone more like an Austin Kirk or a Aaron Kurcz type should be more appropriate.)

I have been following for a while now Brett and love reading your stories.

My guess is that we are going to give up something a little more then we want. My guess would be Jay Jackson.

I'd be fine with Jay Jackson. I've seen him pitch a bunch and I wasn't impressed.
My fear is it will be Vitters.

I would say Clevenger as compensation.

This is the first time I have felt some urgency around finally settling the Theo compensation issue. Any piece added in the off season is hard to evaluate as part of the whole when one of your other pieces is going to suddenly evaporate.
Boston chatter is heating up around the high end of compensation and it REALLY bothers me that Boston has just jetisoned BOTH of their big league shortstops with no real replacement ready. No I don't think that will happen. But, it could.

My not-so-educated guess is Rafael Dolis.

I really hope it's not Lake. I was saying Carpenter day 1, so I'll go with that. I would love it to be Jay Jackson, he's pretty useless at this point.

Matt Szczur, just so I don't have to keep trying to spell his name after he becomes a bust.

Should be coming to an end soon. The more I think about it, I really think Carpenter makes a lot of sense. Pretty sure that's who it will be.
