I was on my way to get me and the Wife dinner tonight, and as I pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant, knowing that I was going to have to shut the car off, 'Hero' by Enrique Iglesias came on the radio ... and I let out an audible, "aw man."

At least I managed to listen only to the first chorus, and then got out of the car.

Anything by Iron Maiden, but truthfully, I don't feel the least bit guilty about that.

Some folks might feel guilty about liking John Denver, too, but it doesn't really bother me.

I guess the thing that I feel most guilty about listening to is some of the goth/electro goth that I listened to in high school twenty (*gasp*) years ago. That stuff's just not that good, but it is awfully fun to listen to. On occasion.


BTW, I have no idea who Enrique Iglesias is, really. He's the spawn of Julio, I assume?

It's old-ish, but I would be surprised to learn that, upon hearing a few notes, you don't vaguely remember hearing it at some point. Bonus: the video features Jennifer Love Hewitt back when she was moderately attractive. Extra bonus: Mickey Rourke plays "the bad guy."

And, yeah, that's Julio's kid.

I do not believe in the concept of a "guilty pleasure"....I never liked when guys would dislike certain songs because they thought they weren't tough enough or too girlie...I have never associated my masculinity with my music choices...so yes...I like Prince music, Queen music, I find "Total Eclipse of the Heart" very singable...but I love the Stones, and hard rock....I have an ecclectic collection....no music is "bad"...it is only based on our perceptions....I don't like most new music( I long for the days of actual albums and people who could play instruments and write music) but I can't say today's music is worse...it is to me, but that's my perception....

so in a roundabout way- never be asshamed to admit you like any song....

There are some Pink and Lady Gaga songs that I never would have heard if I didn't have daughters that I can admit to listening to when they are not around. Toxic by Brittany is pretty fun.
