If it was big news in the last year, it must have been a Friday (ok, ok, with a few exceptions):

Carlos Zambrano goes crazy and abandons the team? Friday.

Announcement of Hendry firing? Friday.

Theo officially hired? Friday.

Rizzo/Cashner trade? Friday.

Starlin Castro story? Friday.

Woody returns? Friday.

Matt Garza arbitration avoidance? Friday.

Clear your next five Fridays, because I can only assume that's when Garza will be traded.

We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

Edgar is now dead to me. Stinky Pete is my favorite.

"Peter, I see you've been missing work a lot lately".
"Well Bob, I wouldn't say I've been missing it".
Peg: Oh Al! Did you miss me?
Al: With every bullet, so far.

Now that I think about it I found out about most of these stories at the bar rather than the internet. I was 'faced when the Big Z freakout came across the ticker.
