I was just about to post a topic on this and was surprised to see there wasnt already one posted. First 3 starters seems pretty set:

1. Garza
2. Dempster
3. Maholm

From there it gets a bit more dicey and if I had to guess I would go with:

4. T. Wood
5. Wells

With the rest rounding out the bullpen/optioned to AAA. Shark stays in the pen if you ask me as our 7th innning guy.

If the last few post seem redundant or confusing its because I just merged two threads together that had the same topic

Wells to AAA for injury concern/Garza deal. But otherwise, this is ideal.

I agree, except that I think Wells could help the team out of the pen, especially early in the year. Maybe it's just hope/optimism, but I think he's got the mentality to be a pretty good swing pitcher, something that would have been invaluable last year.

All depends on the velocity from Wells. If he's back to pre-2011 velo, in the rotation. If not, I'd send him down.

7.04 ERA in the first inning in 2011. 6.10 in the first inning in 2010. 4.67 in the first inning in 2009.

I realize that doesn't necessarily tell the full story, but he's really struggled in the first (I realize it's the top of the orders). I have never been a big Wells fan (starters with that low a K/IP rate worry me) and considering how bad he was last year even with a REALLY good BAbip (.277)...I think the league has completely figured him out now and he's going to be a non-factor from here forward. He doesn't have a single plus pitch, which is something a good RP definitely needs in my book.

Yeah, the first 3 seem pretty set. I'd be curious to see if Wood and Shark round out the rotation.
Peg: Oh Al! Did you miss me?
Al: With every bullet, so far.
