Roster Size (FleaFlickerLeague)

I think an active roster of 25 is simply way too big. It takes all free agency components out of the game, as the only players left will be 5 PA/Week players. I'd be much more in favor of 10 position players (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, DH, UTIL) 6 Pitchers (4 SP, 2 RP) and 4 Bench would allow for a lot more movement outside of players you've drafted and trades.
As far as minor leagues go, like 5 roster spots in initial year, all keepers until they lose rookie eligibility (or 2-3 years after) with one more spot added on every year to accommodate new prospects/draftees?
(Also, this will be my first keeper/dynasty league, so if any of that above is ludicrous, let me know.)

Sam please let us know since you used fleaflicker before.
This is from the fleaflicker FAQ:
Keeper Rules
An owner in a keeper league can choose to keep any number of players up to the allowable maximum. There is no penalty for keeping a player. You do not lose a draft pick. If you choose not to keep the maximum allowable number of players, you will be awarded an extra draft pick at the end of the draft. All players not designated as keepers by the start of the draft will be released as free agents that are eligible for drafting.

Nah it will be a good place to discuss changes if neededOh, ok, I thought this league had a minor league component to it, my bad.
And I just found the roster size in the fleaflicker page, looks good.
Feel free to delete this whole thread, its pretty unecessary, my bad

Good question, I check into it. I assume your asking if we can add players through wavier/FA/trade players to our keeper roster and if so if there is a time deadline for setting your keepers (ie the trade deadline). Is that correct? There are a lot of minor league guys available who could become keeper candidates. Any idea if there is a time on roster limit, or are only the guys we draft eligible to be keepers?

Yes, it helps. It gives me much less incentive to take any kind of prospect in the draft who won't be on an opening day roster.you can assign any player you pick up to be a keeper. It doesn't matter how you acquired them, and as far as I know there is no time limit on designating your keepers. Hope that helps.

Just remember the wavier wire with 24 teams can make it difficult to get those prime prospects through free agency.Yes, it helps. It gives me much less incentive to take any kind of prospect in the draft who won't be on an opening day roster.

Thats true but I wouldn't not draft any prospects either. I just wouldn't get more than one or twoYes, it helps. It gives me much less incentive to take any kind of prospect in the draft who won't be on an opening day roster.

Sorry Spoda the league is full but you can always start a new league and recruit on here, I know there were a few people that were hoping to join. I'd highly suggest Fleaflicker.com
