So I'm going to this really fancy wedding the first weekend of March in Chicago. Being a broke recent college graduate, I can't afford to stay at the recommended Ritz-Carlton so I'll be staying with a friend from college who lives a few blocks away from Wrigley Field (Cornelia and Broadway) and was wondering some cool places around there to check out. I've been to Wrigley plenty of times but only the immediate vicinity and don't know too much about the surrounding area. I'd prefer bars that aren't too tourist-y (CHEAP).

Take a ride on the "L" you see a lot of Chicago through the train. They a thing called a city pass. http://www.citypass.com/chicago I worked at the planetarium and I would advice you to pass it up unless you really like Astronomy. Obviously try to visit all the famous restaurants and bars. Oh and take a drive down LSD at night or early morning.

I think I should mention that I've been to Chicago many times (the old man used to live in Skokie and my sister lived in Grayslake) so I'm familiar with the city itself and have done the tourist stuff, I'm looking for stuff in Wrigleyville/Boystown* specific. I'm not really looking for the "famous restaurants and bars" as I'm poor and, as a former NYC resident, I know that "famous" implies "$10 for a rum and coke"

*Yes I know it's the gay neighborhood but I'm totally okay with it since the girl I'm staying with is hot and we dated in college. gay bar = no bros hitting on her

Nothing like being swallowed by a skyscraper, I second the recommendation.

Go hit some balls at Sluggers while having beers. I enjoyed that.

The Russians used to say that vodka made the winters bearable. I think we may have Chicago's equivalent...

As far as local bars go it may be tough to find "Cheap" drinks on a weekend no matter where you go in Wrigleyville, but Sluggers and Mullens usually have some cheaper domestic beer specials for Old Style or Bud.

Other non-touristy bars worth checking out include:
The Gingerman - good selection of beers on tap and free pool in the back room
Johnny O'Hagans - nice authentic Irish pub and some of the freshest Guinness on the near north side
Guthrie's Tavern - local hangout with tons of board games to play - if your into that sort of thing

The Gingerman's is my fav bar in the area. More of a older "cool" crowd with good beer, music, and pool.
