Last nights season premier of the walking dead was really dissapointing... After the way that last season dragged the same tired and worn out plot from the season premier out way too long, this new season doesn't show too much promise of being any better. Last season I could have watched the premier and the finale and known everything that happened that season. What does that say about the show? The first season was amazing... the second season was boring... and the third season looks like it might be even worse. I will probably watch next week... but im not holding my breath... and neither should you...

This is still part of the second season, I think. I do agree, it was kind of boring, until the last few minutes at least. I used to look forward to it every week, but it seems AMC took the sails out of it and forced the writers to water down and drag out the plot. I think this show got the shaft so that they could put more money into Mad Men, and I'm pretty sure that the original series director is no longer a part of the show. Way to try to ruin one of the best shows on tv.

AMC has an incredible knack for coming up with great shows out of nowhere, but they also tend to have an even more incredible knack for not being able to get out of their own way and let the shows be awesome.

I watched it in Afghanistan, when my viewing options were limited. It was okay. There was something slightly familiar about it. It occured to me one day when I heard a couple guys talking about "Lost". Walking Dead is Lost. They just put zombies on the island. They walk around and meet new and exciting people and face occaisional danger. Same same.

Shrug. I liked it...

The tension in the bar was palpable, and they HAD to spend an episode resolving what everyone knew or didn't know (as in: talking to each other about it) from the mid-season finale.

I've said that here a few times, though I get the feeling that I mean it as a compliment and you mean it as a dig...

Liked it as well. I wanted to kick something when the wife went out driving alone to town. I was so scared a walker was going to stand up in the back of that truck heh.

I realize this, it just feels like most of the episode was spent having the same arguments and problems arise that have been going on since they found the farm. I still like the show, I was just expecting some bigger/different fireworks in the first episode back from the hiatus.

Not necessarily a dig. More neutral towards the shows. I'm just really bothered that the two are soooooooo similar.

I'm not sure I've ever heard somebody describe their feelings towards Lost as neutral.

I'm in between, aside from the chicks driving there wasn't any zombies. The first season they mixed in with personal struggles within the group and zombies, now it's just about they personal problems.

I haven't read the comics but I read on Wikipedia that Sophia lives. So they are already going in a different direction. Did they kill off the guy with his son from ATL? And in the sneak peak they said they are going to meet with someone. And they never said anything about daryls brother.

Yeah Ive been a fall through the entire show. The second season may have lacked all the zombie killing and escaping but the characters really developed and now we are watching those complexities of character come become a really suspenseful plot device. The show has been well written throughout and the drama and suspense is perfectly build to add to the action. Look forward how the show goes from here.

I agree, that was fucking awesome this week. Best television death ever, hands down. Well, maybe the science teacher on Lost, but I still like this one better.
