Cubs Fact:

On May 9, 2006, Cubs outfielder Juan Pierre robbed Barry Bonds of what would have been his record-breaking 714th home run when he caught a fly ball as it topped the outfield fence.
Please don't feed the psychos.

Eh, Nolasco could have made the catch AND hit better when it mattered.

We had a kid who the Marlins were scouting right after the Cubs made that trade....and I asked the scout about the the trade, he told me they loved Nolasco and that he was a bulldog...which has more or less been correct...I asked him what he thought of Rich Hill(one of our big prospects at the time)...he said their scouts thought Hill would never make it....not mentally tough enough.....

I guess he was right...

A stupid trade when it was made, and it only looked worse thereafter.

I remember the year before we picked him up going to a game against the Marlins at Wrigley with my wife. Pierre was getting on base, stealing bags, running like crazy. I kept telling her, "God I wish we had that guy".

The next year we did....and I grew to hate the SOB.

I would like to see a thread dedicated to all of the players we were all excited to see put on the Cub uniform, who turned out to be a complete waste.

A couple of fairly recent ones off the top of my head.

Soriano - duh
Pierre - obviously
Fukudome - I wasn't sold, but some people were, especially after that rainy opening day.

That may have been Chad Tracy's only rbi with the Cubs.

Brett's old ebs' were always so classy and well spoken.

I'll admit...after that opening day, it took a very long time for me to turn on Fuck You, Do Me.
And that's a bad miss...

I admit I am nothing more than a 12 year old in a much larger body, but I still giggle everytime I see that guys name on the uniform.

Most giggle-worthy Chicago sports jersey since Curtis Enis.

My mom bought me a Curtis Enis jersey (since it was like $10 on sale) when I was in high school...I wore it once.

"Where's the P?"
And that's a bad miss...

My Grandma bought a Cade McNown jersey for me when I was in school. I never wore it once, still have it somewhere. It's a Bears jersey, so I can't bring myself to throw it away, but it's a Cade McNown jersey, so I could never bring myself to wear it.
