This is a purely academic question, as no one really believes the Cubs are going to be playing a season at the Cell any time soon, but ...

Would you sign up for a Cubs World Series title in 2013 right now, but with the condition that it comes in a season that the Cubs have to play at the Cell?

If that's too easy, let's add another wrinkle:

If you say no, the Cubs go on as they have been, and maybe win one at Wrigley under Theo/Jed/Tom in the next five years. If you say yes, then the Cubs can't win another WS for another 25 years.

No. Im a firm believer that the Wrigley is one of the main components for the Cubs as a baseball franchise. In no way would I want to celebrate in another place besides Wrigley. If we have been patient for 104 years we can wait another 5 or so.

id take the gamble. I've waited this long, i'd prefer that it goes down the right way. especially because we will be a MUCH better team in '15 or '16 than '13.
to me it would be like only having sex through a glory hole. if there's no boobs and butts and stuff, its kinda like... not worth it. In this scenario, the Cell would be the shit stained cesspool of a truck stop bathroom where the glory hole would exist.... which is ironically exactly how i normally describe the cell.

also, the joy of a world series title would eventually wear off, but sox fans capacity for making idiotic comments is infinite.

I would much rather have it at Wrigley then U.S. Cellular. That being said I can wait a few more years.

Tough call. As much as I love Wrigley, I'll take the WS title even if I have to travel down to Bridgeport to watch it.

I'm curious though; why would it take 2 years to rebuild a park that originally took 2 months to build? Weird

I just want my Grandmother to see a world series win in her lifetime. All the things surrounding the team are nice, but it is the team, The Chicago Cubs, that we root for. Just win the world series, please. I'll take it if they're playing at some random high school field

It would be lovely, for me, if they actually won the World Series in Oakland, frankly. And, of course, you're all welcome to crash at my place.

I don't think it really matters. What would be sweet retribution is winning the World Series at US Cellular, while playing the White Sox, and having the stadium jam packed with Cubs fans every game.

I will just add that if this were to happen to any franchise, it would be the Cubs.
