Nolan Arenado broke into the league six years ago at age-22, and since then he’s earned himself six consecutive Gold Glove awards for his work at third base (he’s also got four consecutive Silver Sluggers Awards, but one thing at a time).
So as you can imagine, he’s basically the benchmark for stellar defensive play at the hot corner. But being a great defensive infielder doesn’t just mean making most of the expected plays and sprinkling in a few highlights here and there. It also means – apparently – turning even your mistakes into a thing of beauty.

That’s just … wow.
The focus, the recovery, the throw … it’s just unbelievable. Arenado will earn his brand new 8-year/$260 million dollar extension with his work at the plate, but he’ll make it look like a sweet-heart deal if he keeps this work up with his glove, too.
