Cubs Fact:

Pitcher Rick James was the first pick by the Chicago Cubs, and sixth overall, in the 1965 amateur draft - the first ever pick by the Cubs.

This seems implausible...a majority of pitches that led to HRs at Wrigley were thrown by Antonio Alfonseca, or "El Pulpo," who is widely known to have 6 fingers.
And that's a bad miss...

Seriously, though, what happened to this guy? He pitched in three games as a 19 year old and then I can't find anything. Did he blow his arm out? Was he shot in a hotel room by a black widow? What's the story of Rick James, Chicago Cubs Pitcher?
