There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the tried and true camera angles we all know and love from Major League Baseball.
I mean, I can watch this all day:
.@M_Hanny17 is ready to get rolling for real.
He goes over EVERYTHING in his second home run is as many days. pic.twitter.com/I9DNwl5Hy1

But also … that doesn’t mean I’m against a little experimentation, right? I think there’s always room for improvement, and the Seattle Mariners might’ve proven exactly that with this “Ump Cam” angle (seen in that video above, but isolated below).

Obviously, it could get a little annoying to have that for live-game action, but for instant replays?! Oh, yes. Give it to me. And it doesn’t have to be just home runs. Watching any type of play unfold from the umpire’s perspective would be insanely fun (just imagine a play at the plate with someone like Javy Baez sliding in under/over a tag).
Hell – even watching umps call balls and strikes could be worth it. Maybe we can finally see WHY THE HELL THEY BLEW THAT CALL THAT ONE TIME?!
