You know that amazing feeling of reaching into one of the pockets of an old pair of jeans and miraculously pulling out a five dollar bill? Sure, it isn’t a ton of money, but the combination of surprise, enthusiasm and expectations creates a perfect storm of happiness.
It’s the little things, ya know?
Well, something like that just happened to a grieving family (who preferred to be anonymous) when they pulled seven rare Ty Cobb baseball cards out of a crumpled paper bag in the house of their late great-grandfather. The cards are from the same series as the famous Honus Wagner card, and are extremely valuable.
The cards have since been authenticated by experts in the Southern California region, and Joe Orlando, President of Professional Sports Authenticator, believes they can be worth upwards of seven figures.
Before this discovery, there were just 15 cards of the sort remaining on Earth, which means these seven represent a near 50% increase in the total stock.
Just like finding a five dollar bill, eh?

There were about 15 known examples of the Ty Cobb with "Cobb" back prior to the find. Now there are about 22. pic.twitter.com/vdVWR6UCeU
