Oh no! Oh no! Oh … yes!
Tarik Cohen zigged-and-zagged in-and-out of traffic, weaving his way the San Francisco 49ers special teams punt coverage unit en route to a 61-yard touchdown:
No no no…

That wasn’t your run-of-the-mill 61-yard punt return touchdown either. Cohen ran all the way back to the 24 before reversing field and streaking down the far sideline.
Cohen hasn’t had much success in returning kicks this season. His 7.8 yards per punt return ranks tied for 18th among 29 qualifying punt returners. But to be fair, there aren’t too many returners who have that kind of electrifying run in their bag of tricks. So while it’s been a struggle for Cohen adjusting to this particular responsibility as a rookie, it would be nice to keep putting him out there to see if he makes some improvements in the season’s final weeks.
Cohen now has a touchdown pass, run, reception, and punt return. Now, get him on defense to see if he can get the interception and fumble return touchdowns to check off his bingo card.
