So mlb.com put out a video today that lists the top 100 players right now, and only one Cub makes the list: Starlin Castro. This makes sense, considering the Cubs don't have many stars, but the reason I'm posting this is because Castro comes in at number 97.

Well, that sucks, but nothing to cry about, right? Then you keep watching the video and see that Derek Jeter is number 52.

I think I'm justified by being a little confused by the list, and it makes me question the legitimacy of it.

Also, Matt Garza doesn't make the list for some reason, even though he's at least as good as some of the other pitchers listed. Or even better than a good chunk of position players listed.

Yeah it's a bullshit list that is putting history and popularity into the rankings.

I heard that Castro was number 97, and I could understand it, given that it's "right now."

But I didn't know about Jeter being 30 spots higher. That's insane and ridiculous. I'd like to know one person who'd want to have Derek Jeter in 2012 as their shortstop over Castro. Just one person. Find him.

You can't. He doesn't exist.

I'm sure a series of Yankee asshats would take Jeter, but the only vote that matters- Mr. Tidrow says Castro and that's all I need.

Was it using their new program "The Shredder"?
