The decision to go with Hill over Castillo last spring was my first indication that Quade wasn't going to work out.

But even then I had no idea of the horrors that were in store...

Nice. Welcome, Joe. I reckon the game threads here will get a little more ... interesting during the season.

Jeeeeeeeeebus, Moreland's still calling Castro "Starling". You'd have thought someone would have smacked him for that during the offseason.

Loving the good days out of Clevenger and Vitters. Here's hoping on LaHair...

Edit: Struck out. Phooey.

Cool, and phooey. Any score so far? How's the pitching, or is that something you generally turn a blind eye to in Spring Training? This is my first year paying QUITE so much attention to ST. I was pretty attentive last year, but not this deep in...

Love the Jeter-esque play from Castro (except Jeter probably would've never gotten to the ball).

Cubs 6-1. Seems like the pitching's been OK, but I've only been keeping one ear on the game. Clevenger sounds good though.

Man, and as an aside -- I keep forgetting about this -- but it's SO WEIRD to hear all these commercials describing locations and/or referring to activities in the Chicagoland area that I left a dozen years ago: Oh, yeah, Palos Hills! Arlington Heights! Hinsdale!

Maine was effective, and so war Parker. Casey Weathers, if I remember right, did not walk anyone (hugely positive sign for that guy), and benefited from a nice play by Castro.

And fielding that throw by Castro? Bryan LaHair, with compliments on his footwork from Keith.

Interesting that they put Szczur in left and Sappelt in center. If it wasn't early in spring training, I'd be over analyzing that all week.

Marco Carrillo is out after pitching like crap. Not gonna make the 40-man roster if he keeps that up.
