It’s déjà vu all over again.
Maybe.
Danny Trevathan, Dion Sims, and Bryce Callahan missed each of the team’s practices prior to the team’s Week 10 game against the Green Bay Packers, each was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report, and none played as each player was ruled out before the game and left off the active 46-man game day roster.
It’s possible that history repeats itself this week.
Trevathan (calf), Sims (illness), and Callahan (knee) did not practice at all in the week leading up to Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. And yet, each player was listed as questionable on the Chicago Bears’ injury report that was released on Friday. Joining that trio in being listed as questionable for Sunday’s game are offensive lineman Tom Compton (ankle) and safety DeAndre Houston-Carson (illness). ESPN Chicago’s Jeff Dickerson tweets that Compton and Houston-Carson were limited on Friday.
Some good news emerged from practice as starting right guard Kyle Long (hand) and outside linebacker Sam Acho (shoulder) were full participants on Friday.
In what is nothing short of great news for quarterback Mitch Trubisky, running back Jordan Howard, and the rest of the offense, Long is off the injury report completely. Long has been listed under “full participation” in each of the last two practices, which suggests he’ll be ready to start on Sunday against the Lions. Acho has been dealing with a shoulder injury, but had been limited in practices before Friday.
Gaining the full health of two starters should be beneficial for a team looking to spring an upset against a Detroit team still in the playoff mix.
