The mic guys are really doing a good job picking up EVERYTHING. They probably feel like they deserve a raise.

I keep hearing this Cubs Fantasy Camp commercial... anyone know anyone who's done it? I'm sure it's prohibitively -- if not stupidly -- expensive, but gee, it sounds like fun. Dorky. But fun.

One roster spot is $4,500. Two or more roster spots purchased together are $4,250 per spot

Yeah, that's both stupidly and prohibitively expensive.

I heard a beer vendor extol the virtue of his product by suggesting the ladies in the crowd should drink more so the guys look better. Lovely.
Peg: Oh Al! Did you miss me?
Al: With every bullet, so far.

He might have been just stating facts.

At least Marmol didn't blow a save today.

Ha. Actually, in the stupid-ass arcane rules of blown saves, I'm pretty sure he did.

How many pitches did Volstead throw in the first? I think it took him only 4 minutes to go through the top of the inning.

I can't tell if you keep calling him Volstead as a joke, a typo, or an auto-correct...

I think you are right Mr. Conroy. Volstad came out after three, but Kerry Wood pitched the 4th to become the pitcher of record, so I think that does mean that technically Marmol blew a save.
