ESPN is attempting to rank the Top 500 MLB players, and the first batch is up (401-500).

Quite a few Cubs on the list already. I noticed Volstad, Samardzija, Barney and Johnson.

With 30 teams, and, let's say, 17 players on average from each team, ESPN is essentially calling those guys at or slightly below average players, including everyone on teams' 25-man rosters. Is that really accurate?

Grumble. It probably is...

Any odds on who the #1 player will be?

If not Pujols, then my money is on a Yankee and I am sure Jeter will probably be far too high on the list given his current abilities
