As you enjoy watching the Cubs take it to the Giants, here’s some more good news for your Friday evening: Randy Wells’ rehab in Arizona has been a success, and he’s finally headed out on a minor league rehab stint. Wells will start this Tuesday for the Peoria Chiefs, and, although another start or two are highly likely, it is theoretically possible that he could move back into the Cubs’ rotation as soon as the following Sunday (taking the turn of Casey Coleman).
Wells has been out with a strained forearm since April 6, just a couple days after his first and only start of the season.
