It was a game we expected the Cubs to lose, and they did. But you hate to see the Cubs score five off of one of the best pitchers in baseball, only to have their pitchers given them absolutely no chance to win. James Russell was the only guy who had anything.
I think we can all agree on two things: (1) It was a really sweet idea to have Bill Buckner call the game with Len Kasper, and (2) it was absolutely painful to listen to. The only color Buckner brought to the game was grey. I’m not entirely sure how Len managed to keep his pencil out of his eye.
