Editors Note: If you’re looking for the Bears’ injury report, we’ve got you covered.
The New York Giants were already facing an uphill battle against the Chicago Bears this week, but it won’t get any easier after their release of Friday’s injury report:
The Giants have ruled TE Evan Engram (hamstring) and LB BJ Goodson (neck) OUT of Sunday's game against the Bears. LB Lorenzo Carter (hip) is QUESTIONABLE.

Tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) and linebacker B.J. Goodson (neck) have been ruled OUT for Sunday’s game, meaning the Giants will be without two talented starters. Outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter (hip) could be a potential backup option for Goodson, but he is listed as questionable on the injury report.
The big name here is Engram, who suited up for the Giants’ Week 12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles but did not play. Engram tweaked a hamstring injury during pre-game warm-ups and never made it into the game. Unfortunately for Engram, things haven’t gotten any better and he was kept off the practice field all week. Losing a potential playmaker who can catch passes over the middle when attention is focused on wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and running back Saquon Barkley figures to sting for a Giants offense that has had its fair share of ups and downs this season.
Chicago allowed four touchdowns to tight ends in its first five games, but only one score since. It’s an area where the Bears have really tightened things up, but the secondary’s job is easier without having to account for a player as dynamic as Engram. That means one fewer option to account for in the passing game and should allow the primary focus to be on slowing down Beckham and Barkley.
