Miserable ending..........A lot of questions swirl.......first what if Demp was left to finish the 8th. Swevn has some 'splainin to do
I really like the move by Sveum. I think it is the higher percentage play there. Zimmerman had hit 2 homers off of Demp that were kept in by the wind.
Kerry Wood lost this game with the assist by the umpire. Marmol wasn't terrible. Some bad luck. Kerry was just not in mid season form and it cost the team

Agreed. If Demp had given up a HR to Zimmerman, everyone would be bitching that he was left in too long. At 108 pitches on a cold day, it was the right call. Wood lost this game, not Sveum.

If your name is "still love the cubs"...why does it sound like you really...um..don't??? just sayin'.Last thing from me: I feel like this is what a good number of Cubs games are going to be like this year. Good starting pitching, little run support. If they do have the lead, bullpen will likely blow it. Two best pitchers in the BP lost the game today. When we have other guys coming in, it can only be worse.
Still going to love this team though. Unfortunately.

Well I'm taking off of work so that I can watch the team on opening day. I do love the team and I will always be watching. I try to be realistic about what I see but I am not giving up hope.
I love the new front office and we are only going up from here.
