The Chicago Bears released the final injury report of 2017 earlier today, and it looks like Mitch Trubisky will have a new-look offensive line for the season finale against the Vikings.
Indeed, Josh Sitton and tackle Bobby Massie are listed as doubtful after missing a third straight practice. Sitton missed the team’s Week 16 win against the Cleveland Browns nursing an ankle injury, and Massie was limited to 42 snaps against the Browns after suffering a knee injury.
If Sitton and Massie are both unavailable for Sunday’s game in Minnesota, the Bears’ starting offensive line will likely look something like this: Charles Leno Jr. (left tackle), Cody Whitehair (left guard), Hroniss Grasu (center), Tom Compton (right guard), and Bradley Sowell (right tackle).
Compton (concussion) and Sowell (back) returned to practice as full participants earlier in the week, which means they’ll get the first shots at replacing the two starters. Waiting in the wings are a pair of undrafted free agent rookies in Cameron Lee and Brandon Greene, whom we discussed earlier in the week.
Tight end Adam Shaheen was limited in Friday’s practice, as he has been since suffering a chest injury in the Bears’ Week 14 win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Safety DeAndre Houston-Carson was also limited in practice as a back injury has flared up this week for the special teams contributor.
