Appreciate the Lame.....Making Fun of the White Sox(Redux)-
Posted 07 April 2012 - 08:39 AM
I will admit that as I have gotten older I prefer talk radio when I am out in my auto-car. Thus I listen to The Score quite frequently, even though it is the White Sox flagship station. If I have to keep hearing these new Sox promos, I may have to go back to my classic rock.
A few months back I pointed out just how ridiculous the Sox 2012 slogan: Appreciate the Game was. Of course when you go with All In, and your season more resembles All Suck, I guess you have to be a bit more...ahem...non-committal?
But come on! Appreciate the Game? and the commercials are so lame...there is one describing a Paul Konerko at bat like it's open heart surgery. White Sox fans have always had this delusion that they are smarter or "better" fans for some reason, and I guess this is the angle they are going with.
So to help them with their future marketing plans...here are some future campaigns they may want to use in the same vain as Appreciate the Game. (some of these I may have used before...but hey, comedians use their same "bits" so I will as well) All of these should be read out loud, preceded by the phrase "White Sox Baseball....
Two Teams Playing
One Team Will Win
The Grass Is Green
Gloves, Bats, and Balls
Play Ball(actually this one may be a bit risky)
The Pitcher will Throw
Three Strikes. three outs, nine innings
So feel free to use these in 2013 White Sox. I won't even expect a royalty.

"Because you are angry, bitter and unloved: White Sox baseball"
Don't like that one? How about:
"It's not about liking our team, it's about hating the other team in town: White Sox Baseball."
Oh, wait: the Mets are using that.
"Don't want to worry about another September collapse? Then try the other Sox on for size. White Sox baseball...."
