To be fair to the rest of baseball Mike, it has to be difficult for our announcers to rip on other teams when the Cubs provide so much material of their own. I do have to wonder where this even came from, both are already in the Hall of Fame, both are set in baseball history, and both have moved on to other things. I do think Morgan had his advantages over Sandberg, but Ryno changed the way teams expect their second baseman to play. For Brennaman to have the balls to compare Morgan and Sandberg's defensive play shows how much he really pays attention. I have no respect for the guy, no respect for his opinions, and can't stand listening to his voice. Harry Caray was a much better announcer, the way he almost fell out of the press box when singing the stretch song was amazing. I never saw Brennaman leave his feet or yell "holy cow" and that always stuck in my craw. Douchebag.
Chicago Cub fans have been subjected to (IMHO) the BEST home team announcing philosophy in Sports. We do not trash opposing teams! Many other teams do not follow that philosophy, see Saint Louis Cardinal announcers for case in point. It's one of the reasons I love the Cubs, but I certainly never expect away game home team announcers to give us any respect. Rarely am I disappointed.
