Chris Narveson has been, for his career, a below average starter. May he be below average tonight.

Your baseball appetizer is playing in Iowa. Vitters has two hits and Campana has two stolen bases. Randy Wells is getting hit, but the game is still close.

I'm listening to that game now. Makes me feel like an honorary Iowan.

I think i might turn into an icicle at the game tonight. I have not looked at the stats but i did hear Keith mention that Ian hits leftys similarly to righties. Last night i was impressed with his AB vs. Parra. I am happy to see him in the lineup. I am not a Jeff Baker fan. I understand sitting LaHair. Hopefully Baker does not watch another grounder go right passed him tonight. i hope Camp is not a Cub for long. I am not a fan of junkerballers out of the bullpen. I am terrified by the Cubs pen. i have confidence Wood will turn it around. Hopefully Bosio can help Marmol stay on top of his slider more. He is falling off of it and it is FLAT. Dolis has some upside to me. Russell is well suited for his appearance last night, meaningless innings. Whomever else i am forgetting is too bad to mention or i have not yet seen them pitch.(it is a sad time for the pen when i was relieved to see Rodrigo Freaking Lopez come out of the dugout and sit in the pen around the 4th inning. I never thought i would say this but bring up Casey Coleman. If he can throw in the mid 90's with a decent 2nd pitch it is FAR superior to Camp and his wild junk.

i would almost rather eat peanut shells off Wrigley's well traversed floors than watch Byrd face a RH that has a somewhat decent breaking ball.

On a side note. Castro had some of his worst plate appearances last night that i can remember. Swinging on the first pitch after Barney walked, taking strike 3 to end the game, oh yeah another AB 1st pitch swing and an out

That's what kills me, all the 1st pitch swings & outs. The bottom halves of innings (home games, of course) go by SO quickly. That was the one positive to that 9th inning last night: patience...until you got to Castro. I don't think he's suited for the 3 hole. I think it messes with his head.

Nah. They were buying four free agent years (and one high option year). Castro will be in arbitration for the next four years. I'll be writing about this subject soon.

I know this isn't the right place to ask a question but I don't feel like making a new topic. Compared to Campana how much slower is Szczur?
