Can you believe that?????? Cubs have the lead. Holy crap! The world is surely in peril !!!

Don't worry. We have a bullpen that is good at making sure those don't stick...

Living on the West Coast has to be so weird for sports. Football games at like 9 or 10 am? Cubs games in the late morning? Just whacky. But, then again, as a morning person who likes to get to bed at an absurdly early hour, I could get into it.

It took me YEARS to adjust to Bears games at 10AM. But, I do have to admit, the early, afternoon, and then the evening football games all being over by 9PM does give you a little bit of time to sober up before bed.

Long time since this thread but I'm in the same boat--an ESTer adjusting to football and baseball in the morning. I have to admit, I'm starting to love it.

Barney coming through in the clutch. Something we have been sorely lacking. Hopefuuly Shark is able to continue to command his pitches and settle down with a lead.

The pessimist in me says, "great, now the Cubs have another game in which they led that they can lose."

Yeah. Or start to command his pitches.

Am I the only who think Shark doesn't look bad out there, just has been exceedingly unlucky.

His command really hasnt been that bad, broken bat floater, softly hit would-be dp ball turns into a rbi groundout instead.

I wonder if there is something wrong with Byrd's eyes. Seriously, no pun or joke intended at all. It is obvious that he is not seeing the ball at all out of the pitchers hand.

Maybe they need to send him to get his eyes checked? I have never seen anyone have such TERRIBLE at bats in the ML's over that period of time.

By the way, I'm a little behind on the game. Sorry for the late comment on the Byrd AB.

So I'm glad to see Dejesus playing today. I like Reed Johnson but I don't want to see a platoon with these 2! I know they have to play the $$$ in Soriano and Byrd, but c'mon. Same goes for Soto. Let Clevenger who is HOT continue to play. Any takers?

That's OK. He'll be up to bat next inning, and I'm sure your assessment will still apply.
