Right Guard Josh Sitton, Linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski INACTIVE For Sunday’s Game Against Steelers

The Chicago Bears’ list of inactive players features a pair of starters whose presence will be missed on the field:

Right guard Josh Sitton is atop the list of players the Bears can’t afford to miss for a long period of time. Sitton left the Bears’ Week 2 loss against the Buccaneers with a rib injury, missed some practice, and was listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report. When Sitton was removed from the game, the Bears moved Cody Whitehair to right guard to fill the void after initially sliding to the left side to replace Tom Compton, who left with a hip injury. Bradley Sowell stepped in at left guard for Whitehair last week, but Kyle Long – who is ACTIVE for the first time this year – looks to slide into the left guard position for the first time in his career.

Cornerback Prince Amukamara and wide receiver Markus Wheaton aren’t listed on the inactive list either, meaning they will play in Sunday’s game and make their Bears regular season debuts against the Steelers. Both players figure to start.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez remains inactive and is joined by tight end Daniel Brown, safety Deon Bush, running back Taquan Mizzell, linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski, and defensive lineman John Jenkins.

Kwiatkoski received some good news regarding his long-term health after missing most of Week 2 with a pectoral injury, and while he’ll avoid injured reserve for now, he won’t play on Sunday. John Timu has been called up from the practice squad to take his place.
