No, I think he has to be placed on waivers and clear before he can accept assignment. The good/bad news is that his ERA is close to 7, so he would likely go unclaimed.So what's the scoop on Volstad? Is he able to be sent down without clearing waivers so T Wood can get another shot?

Not sure if Im "supposed" to introduce myself but here goes nothing. My names Kyle and Im currently a Jr at Indiana University from Elkhart, IN. I joined about a month ago and have posted a few times. I guess thats all I got. Go Cubs Go!

Figured I would go ahead and join Kyle and throw my info out there as well. I had always visited the site but just created an account in the past month. I have posted a few comments but didn’t formally introduce myself. My name is Justen and I now live in North Carolina. Moved here about 14 years ago when I was 16 and have missed the city ever since. Used to go to numerous games each year as my grandmother got free tickets through her vendors. Most of the time we had seats first row directly behind home plate, which I thought was cool back then but now not my favorite seats. Would much rather view the game instead of the umpires ass.
Anyway, I look forward to start of the new season and the continued rebuilding of our favorite team. Hopefully I can contribute insightful, and from what I have seen so far, extremely funny/sarcastic comments in the future.
