Well, Stewart has been as big of a fuck-up at the plate as Marmol has been out of the pen. The shitty thing with Marmol is... if he's not the closer then what is he? The asshat that blows the game in the 7th instead? Honestly, I think Brett hit the nail on the head in the Enhanced Box Score and regardless of whatever the hell is going on, put his worthless ass on the DL. I don't know if it's his arm or his head that's injured, but he's useless in the bullpen. Adios Carlos!
I think he would look very good in one of those goofy Marlin uniforms. Quick, somebody tweet Ozzie!

Like I said, I am not watching any more Cubs games until I KNOW that Marmol's sorry, fat ass isn't going to be marched out on the field again.
There is no fixing him... stick a [pitch] fork in him...

I will be at the game today. If Marmol even starts to warm up in the bullpen, expect to see an angry little puppet storm the field.
Can't wait to see that! I hope things are much cheerier in todays game and that you can enjoy your day at the stadium, as one should expect - Marmol-less.
Please bring the Cubs and the long-suffering throng of Cubs fans a little positive luck!

The Marshall deal might not look good at first look, but Marshall is actually pitching as bad as Marmol right now, his ERA is higher than Marmol's. If the Cubs had kept a struggling Marshall, we'd be looking at a team stuck with a struggling lefty that would have been an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. Which means anything that Sappelt, Torreyes, or Wood contributes past this year is a positive gain for the Cubs while saving a few million dollars.
With Travis Wood in AAA and the bullpen a mess that Marshall deal isn't looking so great right now
