Gives me the heebie jeebies...i was a softball pitcher and was beaned in the head and was out for two weeks. To this day, i cringe when i see any player have a ball hit back. scary shitWow, that story about Maholm getting his head broken, and fixed, is amazing. I can't believe he's still throwing pitches to the world's premier hitters from 60 feet away. Mental note: do not get into a fight with Paul Maholm.

Similar feeling here. I was a softball pitcher and took one in the, er...heebie jeebies...and everything is fine (three days of ice and anti-inflammatories), but I moved to OF after that. No fucking around. I'm not lobbing it in there from 45 feet for guys swinging with aluminum bats.
Maholm is some kind of crazy if he can face ML hitters after that injury. He might be my new favorite Cubs pitcher.

This is an example of teams using Bryan's patience against him with two quick strikes. He might swing at earlier pitches in later ABs.
Ive seen LaHair jump on some first pitches a few time. Plus hes been a good 2 strike hitter so far, so I wouldn't worry.
