Parker... don't think I've heard that name before... what's the word on him? (besides, "wild throw scores another two runs")

Fuck the fucking Phillies.

BTW, Volstad's gonna pitch his best game in a Cubs uniform tonight. It's gone be awesome.

Very extensive vocabulary, TWC.

Oh, I'm THRILLED you dropped by the Game Thread to let me know when I can and when I cannot say the word "fuck". I hope you rest easy tonight knowing you have identified someone over whom you have moral superiority.

Honestly aside from the wild throw he was very solid. Actually throwing strikes. I like him so far, better then the other relievers where they just walk the bases loaded.

Phuck the phucking Phillies. Thankfully it's just a 2-game series. I have no doubts about the outcome of game three at this point, and I'd just prefer to see them leave.

It's like everything good about our last three weeks of play (which, I'll admit, hasn't really been *good*, but at least a smidge better than expected) has come crashing back down to the ground in the last two days. Horribly ugly baseball. Horrible.

Nice... Philly's announcer just said (not that it is of any surprise to US) that "over the last 7 games, Cubs pitching has just been horrendous!" Uh yup... understatement city!

I have to say that Sveum is not innocent here. He left Volstad in too damn long. Surely, it never is in the best interest of the team to let them fight their way out of a hole that was avoidable in the first place. Sorry.....but Sveum should man up and accept his share of the blame for how the game has evolved.

All that time spent putting Humpty-Dumpty back together and now it's like all the king's horse and all the kings men are watching him fall back off the fucking wall again.
