Seeing Jake Peavy in the visitor's dugout and hearing his mouth run has brought back those heavy trade rumors from a few years back, a la Brian Roberts.

So I'm wondering... what would a team made up of rumored soon-to-be Cubs in trades that never happened look like? Peavy and Roberts are the only two that come to mind right now. But what else is out there?

We could theoretically give Yoenis Cespedes an outfield spot. Wasn't a "trade" rumor, though.

What is realistic for a trade for this. What would it look like?

Wasn't there a pretty big Prior for Tejada rumor going around at some point? If I recall that correctly, you can place Tejada at Shortstop.

If you're going free agents as well, you would have to include Prince at first.

Free agents have been added with italics until one of the trade rumor guys come along.

I forgot about the Headley chatter. Probably not as heavy and often as Roberts/Peavy came up but good enough!

Let's not forget that we have already signed Jorge Soler to a deal. There is another Outfielder to add to the lineup.

Also i am sure the Garza to the tigers for Castellentos (yeah i probably spelled it incorrectly but trying to post between a meeting) and some arms will heat up if the Tigers are in the thick of it.

Jim Hendry used to get hard everytime he heard James Loney's name, but they were never able to aquire him. Another trade rumor center fielder would be Vernon Wells.
