Maybe the secret to getting the Chicago Bears offense into gear was scripting more touchdowns.
Mitch Trubisky is absolutely lighting up the scoreboard at Soldier Field. Trubisky has four touchdowns – in the first half – against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the Bears have opened up a 28-3 lead with 8:59 left in the second quarter.
Touchdown No. 3 was an absolute dart to Tarik Cohen:
Too easy, too pretty, too many touchdowns. Wait, no, not that last one. pic.twitter.com/j96VKw4cGS

And let’s not overlook the deep throw to Taylor Gabriel that got the drive moving in the right direction:
The play that got us rollin'!

And the fourth one was an absolute beauty, too:

With the pump-fake, too? OOH WEE!
Two weeks after putting together his first two-touchdown performance, Trubisky has a career-high four touchdowns in two quarters. He now has more touchdowns in this game than he did in his first three games of the 2018 season.
Trubisky is showing signs of growth before our very eyes. He is making throws with conviction, showing a willingness to go deep, going through his progressions, and making the right decision.
Through five drives, Trubisky has completed 10 of 13 passes for 221 yards, thrown four touchdowns, and posted a near-perfect 157.8 passer rating. Averaging 17 yards per attempt is pretty good if you ask me. But there is still a ton of game left to be played. Better keep scoring.
