For the second time in three weeks, the quarterback who will start against the Chicago Bears is in question.
Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports that Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill went from full participation to limited on Friday because of a right shoulder issue. The late-week downgrade has the Dolphins starting quarterback listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bears. It’s never a good thing when something like this pops up, especially when it’s regarding the quarterback and his throwing shoulder.
Tannehill didn’t miss any snaps in the team’s Week 5 loss against the Bengals, but his injury could date back to the Dolphins’ 28-20 win against the Raiders:

Should Tannehill be unable to suit up and play on Sunday, Brock Osweiler would be the next man up to start with ex-Bear David Fales moving up the depth chart to serve as his back-up. Tannehill struggled in the Dolphins’ back-to-back losses, but played well and was instrumental in the team’s season-opening three-game winning streak. Based on the names behind him on the depth chart, there isn’t much of a debate whether Tannehill is the team’s best option at quarterback.
It’s possible that the Dolphins limited Tannehill’s practice time on Friday in an attempt to make sure he was able to give it a full-go against the Bears on Sunday. And while it wouldn’t be the first time a team took precautionary measures to an extreme to ensure peak health conditions before a game, this is a situation worth monitoring over the next few days.
