Thanks, but I don't think so - that's from two years ago, which I'm sure has been fixed by Wordpress by now (many, many updates since). But that's not to say there's not a similar issue here. I'm researching exhaustively, but I'm about to be gone for several hours. We may not have a solution for a little while, folks. And I am very sorry. This pisses me off as much as anyone...

In the interim, someone on Apple's support forums says this works, for whatever little it's worth:


OK. I also closed Safari by double clicking the home button twice...holding Safari until the "--" appeared, and ending the application.



Went back to Settings-->Safari-->Block Pop Ups and turned Block Pop Ups OFF...and no problems.

I'm also wracking my brain to try and figure out why it wouldn't be happening to me - I'm also in iPhone, same settings (it sounds like) as you.

I know that, for you guys, this is a BN problem, but it's happening on other web sites, so if you happen to notice the problem on any other site please let me know what site so I can see what similarities there are (so far, I can't figure out a common source between BN and the other sites I'm seeing the issue on (random message boards)).

I wonder if it's an ad that triggers the redirect. You say that you haven't seen it, but we tend to see different ads based on geography, browsing history, etc., right?

Yes. And that's what I suspect as well (though it appears to be happening on sites without ads...). Hoping my ad companies can answer (in fact, I hope it's just a shitty ad they can kill).

Also: is everyone seeing the same thing every time? The pop-up that TWC posted - for a free Ipad from "mobilewinner.org"?

It would be very helpful to be able to make sure it's the same thing every time. If not, any details are helpful.

There's a step before it finally lands on the mobilewinner.org page. It flickers in the Safari address bar, but you can't read it completely. It's www.consumer… something something.

Ok. But the pop up itself always says mobilewinner.org?

Yeah same free iPad, yes to block pop ups and such. Very random happens at all kinds of ways (yes to clicking on link to a comment)

I'm AT&T could it be provider problem?

Since you're on Verizon and not seeing anything I'm curious what everyone else is using as a provider? Although I have gotten that message via wifi so I guess it shouldn't matter.
