I'm on Sprint and I've gotten it, although not lately.
That's interesting. Did it happen for a while (when?) and then stop?
2, maybe 3 times over a 24 hour period, not last week but the week before. Hasn't happened again since. I was on 3G, not WiFi, if that matters. Haven't changed any setting on my phone.

Here's a possibly related, but probably unrelated question: for "ads" in the last week, have a lot of you been seeing beach scenes, that aren't clickable as actual ads? Kinda looks like a sunset picture...

That is what I'm getting today. Its soothing but making me crave a Pina Colada.Here's a possibly related, but probably unrelated question: for "ads" in the last week, have a lot of you been seeing beach scenes, that aren't clickable as actual ads? Kinda looks like a sunset picture...

So, the pop up ad thing happened again on my phone, except I actually read it this time. It said that I was the winner of the "United States's (sic) Android contest". So, it was specific to my phone in that it knew I had an Android. There was only an option to click "ok", and then took me to a different page. It happened on the main page before I clicked anything.

Thanks for the update. They are working on both things right now, but we remain unsure if they're connected. I do know that they started happening around the same time.FWIW, I've seen the non-clickable sunset ad this morning (both here and the front page) with no redirecting to the "free iPad" spam.
I'm pretty sure the beach/sunset problem is only a "problem" for me, and not you guys...

haha. I didn't even look to see what kind of add it was. I saw the buck and just assumed hunting.That's just a hint, Tim. A "targeted ad", if you will.
