Other than a really bad sequence (and a really, really bad pitch) to a number 8 hitter, Travis Wood had a good game. Even his overall line looks pretty great (just five base runners in seven innings). But a three-run homer is unkind to you at the end of the day.
As for the Cubs’ offense, well, other than Wood’s solo homer, they did nothing. But, I mean, it’s not like Yovani Gallardo isn’t a really good pitcher. It happens.
Doesn’t it seem like former Cubs always do well against the Cubs …
