Brett,
I have seen Cliffy post a couple of tweets regarding Sori's light bat, and his stats since the change insisted upon by Sveum. Haven't heard your thoughts that I can remember. How much "weight" do you attribute to the lighter bat.
Pun intended.
I am obviously not Brett...but bat speed is king. It used to irk me to no end to see him walking up there to the plate with a tree trunk. Not as much as it irked me to see him strike out on 3 straight sliders in the left hand batter's box, but it irked me.

It could absolutely be related. Keep in mind, though, that changing bats after years of a certain size can affect your swing plane, and can actually do more harm than good. It's theoretically possible that the change has had no impact, and Soriano just happens to be hot.

But, yeah, the timing sure lines up.

Also, I wouldn't know about the tweets - a few weeks ago, for reasons that remain largely a mystery to me, Cliffy blocked me on Twitter. As near as I can tell, I never did anything wrong. Always enjoyed following Cliffy, and exchanging thoughts. It was a bummer.Brett,

Woah, it must be quite an honor to be followed by "The" Brett Taylor from Bleacher Nation on Twitter. Of course, some of us regulars wouldn't know about that. Also, I wouldn't know about the tweets - a few weeks ago, for reasons that remain largely a mystery to me, Cliffy blocked me on Twitter.
