Hultzen is injured and out for the year so take out the Trumbo trade and have them pick up a Corey Hart or so and that's a pretty good lineup.

I really enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts and opinions on this board.  I want everyone to note that I am completely on board with the rebuild but I want to bring something up that will make you think.  What if the Cubs actually spent money in Theo's first year and what the team would look like.  Here it is lets say the Cubs signed Prince at 9 yrs 220 million, resigned Aramis on a 3 year deal probably 30 million, Michael Cuddyer on a 3 yr 30 million deal, and lets say they signed Paul Maholm to the deal they got him,  and Dejesus to his deal The lineup would of been: Dejesus, Starlin, Fielder,Aramis, Cuddyer, Soriano, Castillo, Barney.  Pitching: Dempster, Garza, Cashner, Shark, Maholm.  This is if the Cubs kept the same payroll and you can not tell me that lineup would not have chance to make playoffs.

#49422 Starlin Castro

Is this post a joke?  If the cubs could get any of those trades Theo would carry Starlin on his back to any of the cities and after the GM was fired he would hire them on the cubs staff.

#47102 Plausible Cubs' CF Options in 2014

I love reading everyone's projections on who will sign with the cubs in the offseason but if I had to make a guess of what the cubs will do in the next 2 offseason's this is what I think happens: CF: I think we combo package Dejesus with Garza this year, also trade Soriano and then the cubs resign Ryan Sweeney with Brett Jackson for cf.  In left field I see the cubs signing a veteran on a 2 year deal someone like Jason Kubel (his option will not be picked up and we get him on a 2yr with a option) and then right field will be Nate Schierholtz/Scott Hairston(until Soler is ready).  3b will be Vitters if he can earn it (I don't think this happens) and I did not include Baez b/c I think he is traded in the offseason.  I believe the cubs will make a solid offer to the rays for Price that will be Pierce Johnson, Javier Baez, and another good but not great prospect.  This would make the 2014 team: Sweeney,Castro,Rizzo,Kubel,Schierholtz/Hairston,Saltalamacchia/Castillo,Valbuena, Barney.  This will be a .500 ball club that could surprise and the big trade of David Price will keep fans happy.  The 2015 ball club is what will start a 4-5 year window to win a world series with the signing of Pablo Sandoval as the big signing.  Almora, Castro, Rizzo, Pablo, Soler, Kubel, Saltalamacchia/Castillo, Arismendy Alcantara (I believe in this kid).  Pitching will be Price,Shark,Appel,Jackson, and Wood.  WOW sign me up lol
