#58110 Cubs Non-Calendar - TWC Edition - 2/5/14 (suck it, Hansman!)

Posted by miggy80 on 07 February 2014 - 01:44 AM

Hey good to hear from you Spriggs. I remember my Grandpa always saying on his birthday "another step closer to the grave". Which is true we're all getting a little closer to death. My dad would always say "I won't be around forever" and he was right. We were supposed to watch Game 3 of the 2007 playoffs together like we watched games one and two. Something happened with our schedules conflicting and we didn't get to watch that game. My dad died the next April 3 on the day that Dempster got the first win of the season for the Cubs. Dempster is the one who blew the save in the only Cubs game my dad and I watched at Wrigley.

The point is, it anit about if the Cubs win or lose it's that you get to spend that precious time with someone you love doing something you enjoy. Take a moment to breathe in this busy time for you Spriggs and know life is good.

Peace,

#55517 Something to Keep You Busy in the Offseason

Posted by miggy80 on 29 October 2013 - 11:58 AM

Man I hate that one creepy dude that always follows high school sports even though he never had any kids let alone a girlfriend. But since we are having fun here this is what I would come up with.

Color Point chart         Mascot Point chart

R=1                              Indian=1

O=2                              Dog=2

Y=3                               Fish=3

G=4                              Cat=4

B=5                              Bear=5

I=6                                Bird=6

V=7                              Old timey name=7

Mascot # + color # = Higher score wins.

#54912 So I made hot sauce tonight.

Posted by miggy80 on 29 September 2013 - 03:21 PM

I'd like to think that I'm pretty decent in the kitchen. If you only knew how many chicks pants I got into with my Grandma's "Pork steak mushroom gravy sauce". Yet in the areas discussed here, Chili and Hot Sauce, those are probably my quickest recipes.

Hot Sause- 32oz of tomato sause, 4 jalapeno's boil remove seeds, Garlic and salt to taste. Mix in blender

Chilli- 1 lb. ground beef 85%, 16 oz chilli beans, 16 oz stewed tomatos, 16 oz of Budweiser, 1 pk of Frenches Chilli-O mix with onions

#52465 Oh, what a week...

Posted by miggy80 on 07 August 2013 - 01:35 PM

Oh off the grid. Where you going?

The last time I was off the grid was when I went to Guatemala in Oct. of 2011. I was off the grid for 7 days. On the 7th day we were evacuated out of Jailbalito which is a long Lake Atitlan due to Hurricane Jova. After a very unnerving boat ride across Lake Atitlan we made it to Panajachel where the town was being pounded by the storm. When we made it to shore we were greeted by the officials who told us to get a hotel and shelter fast because no one could leave due to mudslides blocking all roads out of town. We got to our hotel which had TV and sporadic internet. On my zune I thought this would be a good time to check BN. When I finally got to the sight I saw that the rumors were saying that the Cubs were going it announce Theo as GM soon. For a moment I had forgot about the disaster that was surrounding me.

Olt fizzled out and was waived Soler is on the Bench as a utility player.

#44577 Iowa Cubs game May 18th

Posted by miggy80 on 03 May 2013 - 10:07 PM

And now to totally hijack this thread...

In an attempt to back up my Iowa smear, I found the following chart: http://en.wikipedia....es_by_elevation

While I was incorrect -- IN is indeed flatter than IA -- it's interesting to see how close they are.  I'm actually surprised that IL is flatter than both.  In my mind the topography from Galena down to Garden of the Gods is much more severe, but it appears that the grade changes have been magnified in my years away.

Oh T-Dub if only I could show you the Topography of Iowa. I would take you to the highest mountians which flow in to the most serene sea's of eehh, corn.

Yo, kid, no shit -- I traverse more of an elevation change going to Home Depot than I would driving from the highest to the lowest point in Iow

I should try that, I'm usually leveling out about 30,000 ft when I'm at the Grocery store and buying all sorts of junk food.
