Russell also has more blown saves than Wright,  and more than any in that group, and a higher ERA then all those other guys I mentioned, excluding Wright.

Point being: he's decent, but he's not in the class of elite lefty relievers.  It also seems when Russell doesn't pitch, we win.

You can have your opinion, I'll have mine.

I can make a list of better lefties:

Sean Doolittle

Craig Breslow

Javier Lopez

Rex Brothers

Wesley Wright

Tony Watson

Any other of the plethora of Pirates lefties

Jake McGee

I can go on.

He only gets the ball because he was our only choice for years. Now we have Wright, and he doesn't pitch.

lol James Russell has been one of the best lefty relievers in baseball ever since his failed starting experiment.  If he's healthy, he'll get the ball.

"one of the best lefty relievers in baseball" have we been watching the same guy? Yes he gets outs...but he also can't ever get the clutch outs it seems.

Man this has turned into a touchy and sensitive crowd.  For all the sky is falling crap on the main page, and the jumping to conclusions over here, it may be time to take a little break.

I wasn't implying anything.  I saw the link, posted it, and made the title using a statement of fact.  They yet part was mainly in jest.

You're forgiven. I don't read the front page for that very reason.
