#48398 Reasons why the message board is better than the front page

I actually thought Die Hard was a woman at that time. May have even referred to him/her as such.

Totally.  I'm certain that when the Dick Tidrow stuff started happening shortly after his return, I referred to him as Dick Tidrow's aunt more than a few times.
Are we certain he's a he at this point? Has he made references in either direction?
Now that you mention it, I have never seen an indication either way. I just always automatically assume everyone is male unless they have an avatar proving otherwise. Even then I have my suspicions and look for the adam's apple.

#48358 Vogelbach is faster than Rizzo--WAY faster

Posted by Cubbie Blues on 19 June 2013 - 06:37 AM

Major League average (50/50) 60 time is generally accepted to be a 6.9. A 7.15 then would be about a 30/30, but if he got down to like a 7.0 that'd be great. It would likely be above average for first baseman. If he could be a 40 run tool, I'm sure he could play passable defense in left as well as first.

Given that 20 is absolute zero, as it were, for speed and cats like Rizzo (plus the majority of catchers, a good number of 3B, 1B and even some LF) are Easter Egg Rollin' it up there, Vogelbach's 7.15 is a solid 40, IMHO. (Again, Vitters was slower and never considered exceptionally slow--I've seen him get 40).

To clarify, in a world where 50 is 50th percentile, 80 is 99.9th percentile and 20 is 0.1st percentile, 7.15 is south of average but very usable speed for a corner infielder. That said, his arm could not play in left.

Absolute zero is –459.67 degrees F or 0 degrees K or 0 degrees R. :P

Speed has nothing to do with an infielders ability. Quickness which translates to range does, but not speed.

#47385 ON THE SUBJECT OF TRADE IDEAS....

Posted by Cubbie Blues on 07 June 2013 - 09:17 AM

I have to offer some thoughts on the proposed trades I see on this site.

Your first mistake was looking at the trade proposals in the first place. Everything else, I agree with.

#47182 New Fleaflicker Mobile Site... SUCKS

Posted by Cubbie Blues on 05 June 2013 - 04:41 AM

Mobile complaints:

  • There is way too much white space
  • There is no way to easily tell which messages are new
  • No side by side on for match ups
  • Can't use the desktop version (which sucks anyway)
  • Can't easily compare weekly totals to rest if league
  • Way way too much scrolling
  • no way to get to player notes page
  • No way to zoom
  • It's ugly

Desktop Complaints:

  • There is way too much white space
  • There is no way to easily tell which messages are new
  • Way way too much scrolling
  • Everything doesn't fit on the screen anymore on desktop and I have a 24" monitor
  • It's ugly

That's all I've found so far. But, other than that it's great.

Did I miss anything guys?
