Football is BAD

07 November 2013 - 04:49 PM

http://sports.yahoo....50471--nfl.html

The post I made about a year ago is only 5 -10 behind this one.  But my feelings towards the sport are much more developed and concrete.  Football is bad.  I don't care about excessive celebrations or the joy it brought 30 years ago.  I simply wish it was gone and my boy never has an interest in it.

Bert and Earnies

14 June 2013 - 10:06 PM

So this guy on twitter, @RandallJSanders, notes that he was hearing "Earnies" in reference to earned runs given up by a pitcher. He suggested we needed a "Bert" statistic to go along. After a brief discussion, it was decided Berts will refer to runs given up.

"Jackson gave up 8 berts, only 5 Earnies tonight."

So that's how it is now and I fully expect everyone to use this. Thank you and have a great night.

Pool

31 May 2013 - 07:53 AM

Okay, its not a real pool.  But we have less than a week until the draft.  Make your pick.  Who's it going to be?  Appel, Gray or Bryant?  Or the ghost of Lou Gerhig?  Put up or shut up.  S*** or get off the pot.  State clearly who the Cubs will take with the second overall pick.  I find this pick very intriguing because all three have decent arguments for being the pick.  We don't need the arguments here.  We've all heard and rehashed them.  Just state your undying allegiance to one of these gentleman.  Pick the right one and you win the love and respect of EVERYONE on the board!!  So who do you have?

I'll go with the easy pick, Appel.

The State

12 April 2013 - 08:07 PM

Just got Hulu plus and they have all four seasons of MTV's The State. I recall really enjoying the show when it originally aired because it was fresh and silly. Now older an a little wiser, I can see a brilliance to the show I did not (at least consciously) appreciate in my youth. If my kids told me they wanted to do comedy, I would tell them to watch this show.
Any other fans of the show?

Oh yeah, can I dip my balls in it?
