Cubs vs. Cubs - February 26, 2014 (TV: your imagination)

26 February 2014 - 11:27 AM

Not really necessary to have a game day thread for a game that no one is able to watch (if they're not at the ballpark), but fuck it, right?  It's good to kick off the season.

I know nothing about this dude, 'cept he was a stumbleacross on Pandora that caught my ear.  Some lovely tunes here.

No vid, just sound:

Cubs Non-Calendar - TWC Edition - 2/5/14 (suck it, Hansman!)

05 February 2014 - 10:29 AM

Came across this bit of trivia the other day:

Who hit the first regular-seson home run to land on Waveland at the stadium now known as Wrigley Field?

Where's the fucking Calendar?!

14 January 2014 - 09:47 AM

Joe?  Phil?  What the fuck?

You have a responsibility here.  To your fellow Message Boarders, the daily calendar/trivia question is a critical grain in the hourglass of our lives, landing with a notable *thunk* each morning.  I question your commitment -- to us, to the Cubs, nay, to life itself!  Think of the children!  The huddled masses, the downtrodden!  There are people out there who look up to you, who count on your daily affirmations of Cubs wisdom.  How can you let them down?!  Please, I beg of you: for all that is good in this world, please bring the calendar back.

I mean, what the hell else is Sprigs gonna do?!

Merry Stoutmas

09 December 2013 - 06:58 PM

So my brother and I decided that we're going to focus on the dark beer this Holiday.  Mostly because stouts go really well with whiskey, and, well, we'll be having a lot of that.

Thus far we've identified Guinness, Murphy's, North Coast's Old Rasputin (drool), Sammy Smith's Oatmeal Stout (my college beer of choice), Deschutes' Obsidian, and a couple of local brews.

Anyone else have any thoughts?  Ideally, we'd pick up a dozen different bombers (easier to sample/share -- though not necessarily cheaper -- than a slew of sixers), but tell me whatcha got.
