I know this one, I am pretty sure, but only because I was born in Hammond and that was in his nickname.

I too was born there.  I can't remember his nickname, but it sounds like you have him.  First name?

I was born in Hammond too, at St. Margaret's Hospital. The quiz answer is Bob Anderson.  Spriggs, you must have been neighbors with my family, because they grew up in the same area, and I vaguely remember a story about Anderson that was similar to yours.  Do you remember any Ferguson's?

I wonder if there are any more down on the farm who might surprise us.

The big one for me is Vitters, but he's blocked in LF by Lake, who is in turn blocked in CF by Bonafacio,  so we just gotta wait until Bonafacio becomes the regular at 2B or falls back to earth and everybody realizes he's best suited in a utility role.

With Kalish and Bonifacio both available as LH outfielders; Sweeney is both redundant and expendable.  If his production doesn't start to tick upwards, I would love to see Vitters get his bench spot.

Today Tomorrow, the Cubs will finally get to see their highest paid player step on the field.  Unfortunately, he plays for the Yankees.
